Addison Rae Sizzles in Steamy ‘Diet Pepsi’ Music Video, Unveiling a Bold New Era
Addison Rae is turning up the heat with her latest music release!
The 23-year-old pop star, actress, and social media sensation thrilled fans on August 9 with her new single, “Diet Pepsi,” along with a sultry music video that showcases her evolving sound.
In the video, Rae teams up with co-star Drew Van Acker for a captivating drive. With the windows down and wind in her hair, Rae croons, “When we drive in your car / I’m your baby / Losing all my innocence in the backseat.” The tension builds as she scribbles “XO” on the steamed-up window, before the pair continue their journey, eventually stopping at a convenience store. Rae then seductively grabs a can of Diet Pepsi, wrapping herself in an American flag, adding a cheeky twist to the video’s finale.
Rae shared her excitement on Instagram with behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot, captioning them, “I really do like Pepsi!!”
This release marks a significant moment in Rae’s music career. According to a press release, “Diet Pepsi” represents the “beginning of a new era” for Rae, who hasn’t released solo music since her debut EP, AR, dropped last summer. Earlier this year, she made waves with her iconic scream on a remix of Charli XCX’s “Von Dutch,” adding to the anticipation for her own new music.
In a recent interview, Rae opened up about the joy of releasing music, saying, “It’s been so exciting and fulfilling to put something out.” This passion has driven her since she first launched her music career in 2021 with the single “Obsessed.” Though she took a brief hiatus from music, her fans remained eager, especially after several demos leaked online.
Reflecting on the leak, Rae admitted, “To this day, I still have no idea how that happened, but everything happens for a reason. I just wished there was a way I could have these out.” Their wish was granted when Rae released four tracks on her AR EP in August 2023. But for this rising pop star, it’s just the beginning. “I’m always in the studio, so we’ll see what happens next,” she teased.
As Rae continues to evolve her sound and image, “Diet Pepsi” is just a taste of what’s to come in her promising music journey.
