Lil Uzi Vert U-Turns On Retirement Plans With ‘Eternal Atake 2’ Teaser

Lil Uzi Vert has confirmed a new project is on the way, despite previously announcing they would retire from music after their last project.

In a recent conversation with social media personality Ben Weiss, Uzi revealed that their next album would be Eternal Atake 2, directly contradicting what they told fans back in October. During night two of their Pink Tape Tour in Chicago, the Philadelphia rapper mentioned that their upcoming album Luv Is Rage 3 would be their “last.” The 28-year-old promised fans one more tour to support the project, but stated they would retire from music afterward in hopes of leading a “normal life.”

“Luv Is Rage 3 will be my last album,” Uzi told the crowd, which was met with audible disappointment. “No, relax. It’s okay […] After Luv Is Rage 3, I guess I will go on another tour for Luv Is Rage 3. But after that, I wanna try to live a normal life.”

In December, Lil Uzi Vert shared a sample from Luv Is Rage 3, though it’s possible now that the snippet could be from Eternal Atake 2. During an Instagram Live session, they interpolated Drake’s “7969 Santa” from For All The Dogs, originally sung by Teezo Touchdown. Uzi sang over the piano-driven production, delivering lines like: “Dogs will be dogs/ Don’t we made wrong/ Find my way home/ Dogs will be dogs.”

Uzi also previewed another song on Instagram Live, showcasing a more woozy and syrupy flow with the lyrics: “I tell myself that I can change/ But our love is not the same.”

While no release date has been announced for either project, it looks hopeful that both will be arriving in the near future.
