Travis Scott Released Without Charges Following Fight with Bodyguard at Paris Hotel
The rapper was arrested at a five-star hotel in the French capital in the early hours of Friday, Aug. 9
Travis Scott has been released from police custody in Paris after a confrontation with his bodyguard. The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, August 9, at a luxury hotel in the French capital.
According to the Paris prosecutor’s office, Scott, 33, was arrested at the George V Hotel. However, a spokesperson for the rapper has confirmed to PEOPLE that “Travis Scott has been released without facing any charges.”
Sources close to Scott reveal there are no anticipated charges moving forward, as no injuries or violence were reported involving any parties, including Scott’s security team. The altercation reportedly stemmed from Scott’s dissatisfaction with his bodyguard’s handling of the situation amid a swarm of fans and paparazzi throughout the week in Paris.
Scott had previously been seen attending Team USA’s basketball semifinal against Serbia at the Paris 2024 Olympics on August 8, just hours before the incident.
Following the arrest, video footage surfaced showing Scott being escorted by police inside the hotel and later placed in a police vehicle. Additional footage showed the “Highest in the Room” artist being transported by ambulance a few hours later.
Scott’s legal team is in ongoing discussions with Parisian authorities to resolve the matter swiftly and will provide updates as needed.
